Languages that are easy, medium and hard to learn for an English speaker

Being a teacher, I teach Portuguese as a second language I must disagree.Some of my students who are native speakers of English that never been in touch with English has a certain degree of difficulty to learn Portuguese, however those who had learnt Spanish in earlier school years learn Portuguese faster.For me as a non English speaker ,learning any Latin language is easy because of the familiarity of the vocabulary, the root of the words coming from the Latin make it easier.Can’t say the same about German,Dutch, or to make it worse Chinese,Japanese etc.
